Anti-scam

How to recognize and avoid scams on dating sites in Cameroon.

Last updated: 28 October 2026

1. Golden rule

Play6r will NEVER ask you for money. NEVER transfer money to a user met on Play6r, for any reason.

2. Red flags

  • Money requests (hospital bill, plane ticket, emergency, customs).
  • Refusal to video call.
  • Overly professional photos (stolen online).
  • Inconsistent personal story.
  • Quick move to WhatsApp/Telegram.
  • Requests for banking details or Mobile Money code.

3. Common scams

Romance scam

The scammer builds a virtual relationship for weeks, then invents an urgent money need. Never give in.

Sextortion

After exchanging intimate photos, the scammer threatens to publish them if you do not pay. Never pay, report immediately, keep evidence.

Mobile Money code scam

Someone asks for your transaction code to 'verify' or 'receive money'. NEVER share your code.

4. If you are a victim

  • Report the user at /support/report.
  • Block the contact.
  • Contact your Mobile Money operator (MTN 8787, Orange 9999).
  • File a complaint with the police.
  • Keep all evidence (screenshots).

5. Our commitment

Play6r invests in automated scam detection: suspicious keywords, money requests, external links. Reported accounts are reviewed within 48h.

6. Report

Report any scam attempt at /support/report. No report is ignored.
